Went shopping the past few days searching for prom stuff..
Haha.. But I think I've got almost all my stuff already..But must really thank my Mum and Angela and Sabrina for shopping with me.. Haha.. They're all my fashion consultant.. Without them, I wun know what to match and wear.
Haha... One thing I learnt from preparing for prom...
Never, never, ever
buy a shawl.
Me and Angela were searching for a shawl at Orchard Road. And we went to Daniel Yam and such stores... And for a simple plain shawl, it cost above $50!! At first I picked some plain,light pink shawl and I thought... Okay, this should cost the most 20 bucks... and I looked at the price tag and my I got a shock... $69...
So me and my sis decided to go DIY ( Do It Yourself)... And we went all the way to Arab Street to pick some nice cloth material.
Yup... There's so many many different types of clothes. Cotton, silk, chiffon... So my sister and I decided on Organza... Its kinda of a stiff, semi- transparent material... Its blue in colour but under different lightings, it will turn purple... Yah.. We bought 2 metres of the material and it cost $9...
Then we brought the cloth to a tailor and she sew 2 shawls for us.. Cos 2 metre is too long for 1.. Haha... So I have 2 shawls of the same colour... And we bought iron- on beads for the shawl..
Haizz... But when I reached home and tried matching the shawl with the prom dress... It dun really match.. So I'm going to use a white one I already have... Haha... Waste of a trip? Haha.. Not really... At least I know what to do the next time I need a shawl..
Yah.. Making your own shawl is so so
so much cheaper than buying it at the shops... Anyway, what's important about shawls are that they are of the right colour, material and quality... Haha...
Hmmm... But kinda sad... Wun be using the shawl I made.. Haha.. But I think should have other occasions to use bah...
Tomo would be prom already... Haizz.. Somehow, i'm kinda dreading it... Now I'm trying to think of a good reason or purpose to go to prom... To dress up? To socialise? Take photos?... Dun really know... But since I'm already going... Might as well go happy...
Haha... But dun know how the others will look. Casual? Formal? I would only know tomo...
